What Is Forest Bathing?
Forest bathing comes from the Japanese practice known as Shinrin-Yoku, which means “bathing in the atmosphere of the forest”.
This ecotherapy practice was developed in the 1980’s when Japan was undergoing a tech boom and workers were struggling with the negative consequences of the sedentary lifestyle and prolonged sitting each day.
Weekly forest bathing walks were prescribed to tech workers to help them improve their health and well-being.
In our outdoor education certification, we teach you how to facilitate forest bathing workshops using the forest therapy invitation model developed in Japan.
Learn about the benefits of forest therapy and how doctors are increasingly prescribing nature and forest therapy to decrease stress and improve health and well-being.
